Aw, he's so cute!!

That's what they all say.

But not a single serious inquiry about adoption to date. :(

We spent two hours at a pet fair today; Dubby wore a big "Adopt Me" vest that draped over his back and made him look like a tiny horse.

He was in fine form, performed some tricks, and generally ran and tumbled like a cute little puppy. He got nice and muddy, chewed some other dogs' faces, got trampled by a few big dogs (and loved it), and on the 3K benefit walk he swerved and veered and entangled everyone's legs with his leash without a care in the world, just happy with his newfound freedom (this was only his second major excursion on a leash, since he just finished his vaccinations yesterday).

By the end of the event, Dubby was so tired that he actually conked out in the grass while I was doing a short interview for our pit bull Meetup group. He looked so precious, snoozing there in the sun on top of my muddy blue canvas bag while people strolled past.

Then he came home and crashed on our bed.

We love him. Whoever adopts him will love him. It's impossible not to love him. Everyone here is quite attached to him, especially Byrd, who literally goes into Dubby Withdrawal if Dubby is not around.

This is one more reason why he needs to go home with someone quickly. It will make the foster bond a little easier to break. The longer he stays, the stronger the bond.

Some people wonder why we don't keep Dubby, if we love him so much. The answer is simple: Dozer won't let us. Dozer tolerates puppies, but he won't put up with another adult male dog on his turf. And Dubby will be an adult male dog some day.

Besides, we love every dog that we foster. If we kept them all, we'd have way too many dogs and not enough time to spend with each of them. Two dogs is my limit, and I'm sticking to it for the benefit of all.

But I know someone out there has space for a dog. Someone's looking. Here's hoping they'll fall head over heels for Dubby some day soon.

Oh Dear. I hope you find a home for him soon. Its good you can have the clarity you have on the issue.

I too know that Daisy would have a very hard time with another dog, so I won't even let it cross my mind. So far I still haven't even let the kittens have the run of the place, I keep Daisy pretty much away. She has shown curiosity but no agression, but she did get her hackles up when they approached her. Other times she wags her tail and licks them. So I am a little nervous abpout integrating them.

Any how Dubby is cute as a bug. Let hope someone opens their heart to him.

He is adorable. I hope he finds a home soon.

We are very very bad foster parents here. We have never given back a single animal that we fostered, and now we have so many that we can't add any more!

We need a male (we have two females) and he would fit right in if only we weren't renting right now! Finding a place is so difficult with two I don't think it would be possible with three. Best of luck to the adorable little boy.

If you can convince my Fiance that Dubby would make a wonderful wedding present from him to me. I'd be happy to take him! But then we'd have to do some more convincing with Princess.

Sending lots of adoption dust his way! If you can I think you need to put a clause in the adoption papers that his new family will have to start him his own blog, he's too cute not to be on one!!

Hi Anonymous,
I am fostering Dubby for Austin Pets Alive! You can send people to www.austinpetsalive.org to view Dubby's bio and find out where to meet him each day. Thanks for the inquiry!

Hi everyone! My name is Jaz, my furbaby's name is Corona. I have made it my mission to educate people on bsl, "bad breeds", and the real solutions (training, spaying/neutering, and more). Please check out Corona's profile on facebook, she has over 300 friends with that number quickly rising every day. We can't let them win and end up losing such great dogs!

Oh, I would take him in a heartbeat! Our 4 year old lab/pibble mix would be in dog-heaven with a puppy to play with. We're in Denver, though. . . might be easier to find someone closer.

He is just waiting to pull the right heart string. Now where is that heart hiding?

Anonymous #2: I'm sort of surprised you have a pit/Lab in Denver... It must not look very pit-like? Dubby will probably look very "pit bull"ish. So, unfortunately, he will never be welcome in Denver as long as the ban is in place.

Hi Happy Pit Bull!
I started reading your blog a couple of months ago and I can't tell you how happy it has made me to find someone who shares so many of my interests! I am the proud mother of two sweet pitties and I also LOVE grammar. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a degree in Professional Writing. I love finding other "normal" pittie owners, especially when they're promoting a positive image of the "breed."

What I really wanted to contact you about, though, was an article for Best Friends Animal Society. I'm a volunteer writer for their "Pit Bulls: Saving America's Dog" campaign. I was thinking that maybe I could do an article on you/your blog and that I could highlight Dubby, providing contact information, as well. Let me know if you are interested.

I'm "anonymous #2", and luckily, we live outside of Denver in a suburb without BSL (that no one has ever heard of, so it's easier to say Denver :)), so our pup is just fine. We'd never live in the city limits for just that reason, our pup could easily be tagged as pit, and I would never give her up! Dubby would be more then welcome in our home (and maybe he could tire out our girl!).

Aw... if my husband would let me have a second dog, I'd already be in the car, heading for Colorado.

I pray that Dubby gets a home soon, and that his owners give him his own blog so that we can always love him.
