We ran out of Dozer's special rabbit-based, grain-free dog food. So did every single local pet store. So did all the online outlets (except a few who still have the tiny bags for jacked-up prices).
Dozer couldn't be more pleased.

The problem is, apparently, a shortage of rabbits.
I know what you're thinking, and I thought it too. "How hard can it be to produce rabbits? They practically produce themselves, don't they?"
We've substituted with another grain-free dog food, but it's not rabbit-based. It only took a few hours for us to regret the substitution.

Dozer had an upset stomach
all night, leading to 8 full hours of no sleep for anyone. Dozer is very good about expressing his feelings to you, whether you want to hear about it or not.

Oh Noes! What's up with the rabbits? I'm sorry for the olfactory woes. But of course Dozer, is always as fresh as a daisy.

Oh no - Dozer, buddy, please try to give your humans a break, right??? I'd love to see the fart reaction - I know my dog Indy can clear a room in 15 seconds with his fart smells, lol.
I found your blog from Heather (vet school drama queen), and I think it's so cute :) My uncle's yorkie has the same allergy-- everything but a very expensive rabbit based food. What a pain. And lately he won't eat the full size kibs, even though they are small, so my poor uncle ends up putting it all in the food processor and whirling it around before he feeds the dog -- so it could be worse.
Are you in Austin? My husband, my pittie, and I are moving back down there in a few weeks from DC. We foster pitties up here and are going to be looking to get pretty heavily involved in rescue down there too. Maybe you could show me the ropes.
